What address do I send my e-mail to?
The address is your username@mybabysdiary.org where 'username' is the name you selected when you registered.
Why can't I login?
You must activate your account before you can login. If you didn't receive your activation e-mail please contact us for assistance.
Can anyone else read my messages?
Only you are able to login and read your messages. The only way someone else would be able to read your messages is if you give them your username and password so they can login to your account.
Why are only some pages secure?
The only time that secure pages are needed (the https:// in the address bar) are when you are sending secret data such as your username and password. We use SSL to encrypt that traffic between your computer and ours. When you are displaying or adding and editing entries there is no need to do so on a secure site, since even if someone else was looking at the same website address that you see, they wouldn't be able to see your content, instead they would be directed to login and must supply a valid username and password. We use a thawte 128 bit ssl certificate to encrypt all secret data. You will notice that on the Login and Account pages https:// is always used. How long can my Journal Entries be?
Very long, although I'm guessing most will be short. To give a number I would say 5000 letters and spaces.
It took a very long time to get my activation e-mail, is the server really slow?
I have been seeing more and more of this and it is related to many factors about sending email. For example, most complaints have been about yahoo. Since Yahoo uses a "greylist" approach, all messages that are not from partner sources (aol, gmail, msn) get delayed. If the sender tries to send the same message later, then yahoo will accept it. This is because the thought is that a spammer won't resend the message. Except most mail servers are set to only resend mail every 4 hours. This means that when you register we send the activation email immediately, but since it is defferred, we dont try to send it until 4 hours later. Thus the very late reply. The way to get around this is to add *@mybabysdiary.org to your whitelist or address book so that all mail will be accepted right away.
Will you send me lots of Junk Mail?
If you are like me I CAN NOT STAND Junk Mail. The only correspondence you will get from me is an activation email (to confirm your e-mail address is valid) and a response to any emails that I receive asking for help. I have no intentions on sending a newsletter or updates on the site to anyone, but if you are interested in that let me know. Also, please see our Privacy Policy for more information.
Why do you have Advertisements (Ads) on the site?
The ads on this site serve two purposes, to attempt to make a few dollars to help pay for computer hardware and internet access for the site, and because I have never placed ads on any of my sites I've done professionally so I wanted to see how it worked. I tried to keep them simple, so I hope they are not too annoying.
